At the end of May, members and guests of the Lithuanian Engineering and Technology Industry Association LINPRA gathered to celebrate the association's 30th anniversary. The event, organized with partners INFOBALT and the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania (AHK), brought together the LINPRA community, representatives of manufacturing, IT sectors and educational institutions.
The 30th-anniversary engineers, elected by a special commission, were announced during the event. Virgilijus Pamakštis, Head of the Technology Department of Axioma Metering, was among the awardees. He was congratulated for his services to the country's engineering industry. We are proud that our team has a person who inspires us all and whose example we want to follow.
Virgilijus has been with Axioma Metering since 2006. And until 2023, he was the director of the Department of Innovation and Technology. As the company grows and expands its functions, from January 2023, Virgilijus holds the Head of the Technology Department position.
V. Pamakštis started working with ultrasound in 1990. He devoted all his time to developing ultrasonic measuring devices – ultrasonic heat and water meters. These devices were invented for the accounting of energy resources and their saving.
In 2016 Virgilijus was entrusted with an ambitious project that aimed to:
- create a smart, composite, battery-powered, compact ultrasonic water meter;
- to create production technology for a new meter;
- create a robotic assembly of the meter in mass production;
- to introduce new technologies to the company and have all processes (composite plastic moulding technologies, SMT assembly technologies) under one roof.
In 2018 this project began to take shape, and step by step, the production of the meter and technological innovations were implemented. Thanks to the Head of the Technology department and the entire team, today, Axioma Metering has the first Lithuanian smart composite heat and water meters.
