AXIOMA METERING WON THE "INDUSTRY 4.0 STAR 2022" AWARD

Axioma Metering won the "Industry 4.0 Star 2022" award

The "Industry 4.0 Star 2022" award winners were announced at the international conference "Making Industry 4.0 Real" and Axioma Metering was announced as one of the winners.

This competition, organized by the Engineering and Technology Industries Association of Lithuania LINPRA and the INFOBALT association together with the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK), is the only competition in Lithuania where the leaders of industry digitalization and transformation are evaluated and their achievements noted. The competition's partners are the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania and the technology centre "Intechcentras".

"Axioma Metering" was nominated and chosen by the Commission as the winner in the "Manufacturing 4.0" nomination, where the internal processes of manufacturing companies and their transformation were monitored. The Commission's attention was directed not only to Axioma Metering's exclusive products - smart water and heat meters but also to bold investments in digital technologies, which paid off with significantly increased sales and export value.

Although most of the production is automated, the company has invested 10 million euros for electronics assembly, testing and other robotic solutions in three years. Sales increased by 150% and exports by 145% in 3 years. The added value created for one employee in three years increased by 23.000 EUR.

To be competitive globally, the company invests in innovation, automation and efficiency not as separate units but as an integrated system. In response to market changes and to keep up with both robotization and automation, various IT solutions have been implemented into daily processes that measure, process data and indicate problems. The correct use of the obtained data contributes to the continuous improvement of production processes. Digitalization solutions have already been planned, enabling the equipment to communicate, "interact with each other", and make decisions according to the described algorithms.

All these solutions also contribute to the sustainability of the company. The Head of the plant, Marius Balčiūnas, says that defective or otherwise leftover materials can be returned to the process in the factory: "We grind the semi-finished products and use them to make a product again. In this way, sustainability becomes an important topic for everyone in the factory, and thus we get closer to the goal of making sustainability the "DNA" of the company. At the very least, the company's produced items oblige us to be sustainable," - adds the Head of the plant and continues: "Our manufactured products based on ultrasound technology change the habits of millions of consumers around the world and help customers reduce the amount of water they use by up to 20 per cent. In this way, resources are saved, and groundwater is conserved and protected for future generations."

This win is a great starting point and an incentive to constantly innovate to look for digitalization and automation solutions so that today's solutions open new paths for tomorrow.
